Admin Roles & Permissions

Fater utilizes different user roles to manage access and permissions, particularly within an organizational context. Understanding these roles helps clarify who can perform certain actions, especially administrative tasks.


Standard User Role

Most users within an organization will have the Standard User role. Standard Users can typically:

  • Create, open, and manage their own projects within the organization's workspace.

  • Use AI features (consuming organization credits).

  • View basic organization details (like name and logo).

  • Manage their own account settings (profile, password).

Standard Users generally cannot manage organization-level settings, billing, or other users.


Organisation Admin Role

Each Fater Organisation has at least one designated Organisation Admin. This role has elevated privileges specifically for managing that organization's Fater account.

Key Permissions & Capabilities:

Organisation Admins can typically perform all Standard User actions, plus:

  • Member Management: (See Organization Management)

    • Invite new users to the organization via email.

    • View the list of current organization members.

    • View and manage pending invitations (e.g., resend invites).

    • (Future capabilities may include removing members, assigning/changing admin roles and connecting as another organization member (Impersonation System).

  • Billing & Subscription Management: (See Billing & Subscription)

    • Purchase standard credit plans/packages via Stripe.

    • View detailed credit usage statistics for the organization.

    • Manage subscription details.

  • Organization Settings: (See Organization Management)

    • Upload or change the organization's logo.

    • View and potentially manage other organization-level settings.

How to Become an Organisation Admin:

  • Usually, the person who initially sets up the Fater Organisation becomes the first admin.

  • Existing Organisation Admins can typically invite new members and potentially designate other users as admins (check the Member Management section in your "My Organisation" tab for current capabilities).


Identifying Your Role:

Your role generally determines which options and tabs are visible to you within the Fater Dashboard and Editor. If you can access the full "My Organisation" tab with options to add members or manage billing, you likely have Organisation Admin privileges.

If you need administrative access and don't have it, please contact an existing Organisation Admin within your company.
