The Generation Task List
When you use Fater's AI models to generate images, 3D assets, or videos, the Generation Task List is your primary interface for viewing, selecting, and managing the results of these operations. It appears as a row of thumbnails within the Floating Prompt Area, typically just above the text prompt input.
Understanding the Task List
Location & Appearance: A horizontally scrollable list of small thumbnail previews.
Content: Each thumbnail represents a single output from an AI generation task (an image layer, a 3D asset, or a video clip).
Real-time Updates: New thumbnails appear as AI tasks complete. Ongoing tasks might show a loading indicator.
Generation Batches: All results from a single click of the "Generate" button (especially if "Number of Generations" was > 1) belong to the same batch. The Task List displays all outputs within a batch.

Reviewing and Selecting Generation Outputs
Automatic First Result:
When a generation batch finishes, the first successfully generated item is typically automatically activated:
Image Editor: Added as a new layer to your canvas.
Asset/Video Editors: Selected for viewing in the main canvas and highlighted in its respective tab (Assets/Videos).
Browsing Thumbnails:
Scroll horizontally through the Task List to see all generated thumbnails.
Selecting/Activating a Different Output (Swapping):
Click on any thumbnail in the Task List.
Action (Image Editor): If a layer from the same batch was already on your canvas, clicking a different thumbnail from that batch replaces the existing generated layer with the newly selected one.
Action (Asset/Video Editor): The asset/video for the clicked thumbnail becomes the active item for viewing and is selected in its respective tab.
This allows you to quickly cycle through variations from a single prompt.
Keyboard Navigation (Often when prompt area is focused):
Arrow Left (
←
): Selects the previous thumbnail. If at the start of a batch and an item is active, pressing Left Arrow may deselect/remove the current item from the active view/canvas.Arrow Right (
→
): Selects the next thumbnail.
Managing Tasks in the List (Context Menu)
You can manage the items displayed in the Generation Task List itself using a context menu:
Right-click on any task thumbnail in the list.
A context menu will appear with options such as:
"Remove": Removes only that specific task/thumbnail from the Task List. This does not delete the actual layer, asset, or video if it has already been added to your project. It just cleans up the Task List view.
"Remove All Finished": Clears all completed tasks (those with loaded thumbnails) from the Task List. Again, this only affects the list display, not your project items.
Working with Selected Outputs
Once an AI-generated item is active (either automatically or by clicking its thumbnail):
Image Layers: It appears in the Layers Tab. You can then manage it like any other layer (rename, transform, mask, delete, etc.).
3D Assets: It appears in the Assets Tab and can be managed accordingly.
Videos: It appears in the Videos Tab and can be managed accordingly.
Tips for Using the Task List:
Iterate Quickly: Generate multiple variations by slightly changing prompts or seeds. The Task List makes comparison easy.
Don't Delete Project Items from Here (Usually): Remember the Task List's "Remove" actions are for cleaning the list itself. To permanently delete the actual generated layer, asset, or video, do so from its respective management tab (Layers, Assets, Videos).
Check All Outputs: If you generate multiple items, click through each thumbnail to see all variations.
The Generation Task List is a dynamic and essential tool for interacting with your AI-generated content efficiently.
